Moving on up

I added a cargo van to my business, so now we can transport our chair covers and balloons with ease. I would like to add one more cargo van in the near future. I am also looking at employing at least 3 more people in order to meet the demand of our business.

Business is growing

My business is growing. Our services are in such demand, that there is no such thing as a peak season, because every week/month is busy for us. Most of our clients comes to us via word of mouth. However, I don't know what to do when I get a weekend off , it feels so strange cause we're always busy working.

Choosing Colors For Your Event

Wow! It's amazing how clients come up with unique colors for their event. Imagine Orange, Brown and Aqua together. Sometimes the colors really work well together. I would like to know other unique colors that people have choosen.

What is a FAN

A fan is a loyal client, who will not let anyone else decorate, coordinate or plan their event. A fan will change the date of their event if you're not available on their selected date. A fan will tell you to do it your way, cause they trust and value what you say. It is important to provide quality work so that you can build a fan base of loyal clients.

Everyone Is Using Pink

Why is it that every other event is Pink, don't get me wrong, I love the color pink and it is very pretty. However I noticed that pink became more popular after Trista and Ryan's wedding ("The Bachelor" TV Show).

The Solution to a Small Crowd in a Large Room

If you feel that your banquet hall is too large for the amount of guest invited, then I have the solution. Use Square Tables to fill up the room, you could sit 14 - 16 people per table. Square tables give your event a very intimate and elegant look especially if you use satin fabrics, it may cost more for this look but! it's good money spent.

Decorating My Way

My family and I threw my mom a birthday bash in May 06. Finally I got a chance to pull out all of my creative juices and do it my way. I decorated my mom's party with square tables that seat 14 people. We used satin linens, satin chair covers, beautiful candles and of course we had The Fantasy Table Skirts(R) everywhere from the head, cake, registration and gift table. We had very elegant CD Covers that served as a party Favor/Program, the front of the CD contained a picture of my mom! CD's were created by Terri Wilson from Creative Faces, located in Los Angeles.

The birthday bash took place at the Torrance Woman's Club . Our great feast was prepared by the one and only chef Ron Spears from West Coast Catering of Torrance CA., He provided us with a full course feast that had everyone talking. Flower arraignments by Sonia Velasquez of 'A Touch of Elegance'. Although I am a really great event planner and coordinator based here in Los Angeles, I decided that I wanted to attend this party as a guest, so I hired Sonja Briscoe from 'Les Affaire Events' to be our event director for the day. Sonja did an outstanding job keeping the party flowing smoothly.

Our DJ name was Kerry Smith, he was amazing, awesome, great, fantastic. We raffled door prized and every time a name or number was called, DJ Kerry would play a game show tune, just to name a sample, I really liked his style.

We did our RSVP's online, we hired the services of busyerrands4you.com President Shennell Davis, based in Los Angeles, created an online site and provided a telephone number for our guest. Her company kept track of all the people who accepted and regretted. Shennell Davis, called our guest who did not respond by our deadline date. I highly recommend this service.

Robert Torrance from 'Creative Images' was our photographer who also created a wonderful slide show presentation that contained pictures of my mom, the family and friends. Robert took pictures of the entire event from the setup to the end, we was lucky to aquire his services.

Hiring Family Members

I hire my family and friends to work for me. It took some time for my family members to take me serious and view me as their boss instead of their sister, mother, daughter or friend.

In the beginning I would give them instructions, and they still would do it their way. I would ask them to separate and they would still work next to each other laughing and talking, which slowed down production.

Now they understand my method, they understand why I ask them to separate, they respect me to the fullest now and do exactly what I ask them to do. They still talk a little, but! They get the job done! I thought about hiring strangers, But I would have to train just to get to the speed of my family members. So for now I will continue hiring my family, I also gave them all a pay raise.

My Beautiful Chair Covers

I have chair covers that are very elegant and formal, it took me hours, days and weeks to design a cover that I could be proud of. I started out with 250 white covers, and within a year I have accumulated more than a thousand chair covers in total and expects to add more as the demand for them grows.

My traditional chair covers are pleated all around and fit Banquet style chairs very elegantly. I also have Ivory chair covers for Chiavari Chairs and Satin Antique White Covers . Our sashes or chair bows are made with different fabrics, our most elegant sash is made from Crystal Satin in an assorted colors.

My regular clients such as coordinators, hotel banquet managers and other hall managers, often say to me 'that our chair covers are always clean and pressed' I reply to them that we pay special attention to each and every cover and threat them with special care. Our sashes or bows are always pressed after each event.
